Our ambition is to provide to the readers of this website the best information available about the higher education and scientific research in Poland.

Even if the virtual world is the privileged place of our action, you can also meet us in the "real" world as organizers of conferences, promotional and cultural events.

We are passionate about our country and Europe, passionate about the dialogue between cultures and different mentalities.

Culture and entertainment

Museums, cinemas, theaters and philharmonics are especially present in major cities where cultural life is concentrated. Information about the cultura llife and entertainment in Poland is available in the newspapers (the biggest dailies in their Friday editions of cultural guides for the coming week) and on the Internet.

The museums exhibit both contemporary and historical interesting art collections. They are usually open from Tuesday to Sunday, until 16:00. The tickets are cheap and some museums offer free entry on selected days.

Theaters are in all major Polish cities. They are closed during the summer (vacation). The most famous theaters: Współczesny Theatre, Theatre Powszechny and Narodowy Theatre in Warsaw and the Stary Theatre and Słowacki Theatre in Cracow. The most famous musical theaters are: Musical Theatre in Gdańsk, operettas in Cracow and Gliwice, and Musical Theater "Roma" in Warsaw. To see an opera or a ballet, it is advisable to go to the Wielki Theatre in Warsaw, the Warsaw Opera Kameralna, or to the Grand Theatre in Lodz.

The philharmonics are in major cities. The most famous is the Philharmonie Narodowa in Warsaw. The outdoor concerts are held, among others, in Warsaw garden "Lazienki" and Zelazowa Wola - the birth place of Frederic Chopin.

Cinemas: there are many of them in Poland, small as well as big ones. The big cinemas (eg. multiplex) shows the current movie production and the choice of the movies is more important than in small cinemas, where it is less mainstream. Foreign films are often screened in Poland in original version with Polish subtitles.

Tourist attractions: Poland is an attractive tourist destination. On the List of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO you can find Polish sites such as the historic center of Krakow and Warsaw, the historic salt mine in Wieliczka, Old Town in Zamość, the Bialowieza Forest, the medieval city of Torun, the castle of the Teutonic Knights in Malbork, Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, the wooden churches in southern Małopolska.
